Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain, Why the early bird gets the worm, Life isn’t always fair,

When Fox News called last week I was pleased to oblige them with an interview. I began a promotional tour for PreserveTheAmericanDream.com (PAID) three weeks ago and up until then all of the coverage was on local and syndicated radio stations spread throughout the country (See-In The News). I expected a great response, however it’s been overwhelming. As of this morning 16 hours after my on-air meeting with Mr. Cavuto www.PreserveTheAmericanDream.com has registered over 16,000 hits. That’s 1000 per hour! The Fox audience is incredible. It appears as though we have hit a nerve (See video on home page). It is very rewarding to read the hundreds of emails that have arrived cheering on the organization as one that is relevant and very timely. I hope to detail some of those stories as time allows.

This is the second in a planned series of articles about the nightmare frivolous lawsuits that I personally had to overcome on my own journey to achieve the American Dream (See Part 1, July 2, 2007).
Because of the illogical events that transpire in such cases I once again state the obvious: I swear the following actually happened.
As owner of radio station WJSE serving the Jersey Shore, I was head-strong about building an FM station that sounded like no such station that ever served the shore. Unlike most of my competitors who hired part-time local bartenders and such who liked music, and would work cheaply, I decided to scour the country for the best talent. This would accomplish two things, first it would allow the station to sound bigger than it actually was and secondly, it would force us to grow more rapidly because the costs of better and more interesting on air talent are higher, so we’d have to sell more advertising, faster and at higher prices to cover those higher costs.

As the originator and owner of many small businesses throughout the past few decades, I feel very qualified to speak to the impact that lawsuits have had in running those businesses (See Prevent the American Nightmare, Part 1, July 2, 2007). Ironically I have found that the masses of people who go about their business everyday working for small companies have no real idea about the impact that directly affects them and their jobs.
Now we can put all the instinct to rest as we have a source of real facts. Thanks to the nice people at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Legal Reform we have a basis to compare our personal experiences.

Millions of Hot Dogs will be eaten today in celebration of the nation’s birthday. One guy in Coney Island just set a record for eating 66 in ten minutes. Good for him. Back yard barbeques will entertain Americans as they guzzle beer and appreciate the day off from their jobs. Tonight the skies of America will be illuminated with powerful fireworks exploding loudly accompanied by patriotic songs in stereo that will remind us of how truly spectacular this great country can be. Happy Birthday America and thank you for our many freedoms!

Speaking with friends recently, who were with me throughout past business dealings and at my side as some ridiculous events unfolded, I have come to believe it would be helpful to readers to know what really transpired on my own journey to discover my American Dream.
